Completed Mega Man Quilt

Almost exactly a year after finishing the top for this quilt, the Mega Man quilt is officially complete! I am very happy with how it turned out, and my husband is as happy as a child with his new quilt. My MIL completed the back, quilting, as well as the binding, as I finished up my first year of teaching. This quilt was a long process since it has 960 two inch blocks that had to be carefully planned, laid out, then sewed, to come together to look like the favorite pixelated character, Mega Man. I used this image to help with the front, and this image to inspire the back. Although the sewing was easy since it was just blocks, it was very time consuming, but completely worth it after seeing the finished product. There will definitely be more video game quilts in my future!

Mega Man Quilt Top=done

A few days ago I completed the Mega Man quilt top! I’ve been working on this thing for a while now, so I’m quite excited for the top to be done!! Once I finish the back and the quilting is done, I will post the finished product. I had so much fun working on it, and let’s just say that I am already planning some other video game quilts for the future 🙂

Mega Man QR Code Birthday Card

Yesterday was my husband’s birthday, and each year I try to come up with a creative card for him. This year I thought a Mega Man one would be fitting seeing as I have been working on a Mega Man quilt for him for the past few months. Since he’s also a computer guy, I wanted to incorporate something else nerdy, so creating a personal QR Code sounded like a perfect idea. With a Google search you can find numerous websites that will help you to create one on your own that you can print. It took me maybe a minute to get one.

And when you scan the QR Code? It takes you to this picture:

Instagram Engagement Album

Exactly a month ago, my little brother (who isn’t so little anymore) got married! I had hoped to have this darling album made for his beautiful wife a few weeks after they got engaged back in December, but then I took 19 credit hours this semester, volunteered a few times at the elementary school, and helped to coach Girls on the Run, and ran out of time to get it done when I wanted to in January, and even before the wedding in April. Since my sister-in-law has officially gotten the album, I can now share it on here! I can’t believe I don’t have a million of these little Instagram Albums, because they are darling!!!! You don’t even need to use photos in them, they could be used as a quote book. My brother and sister-in-law’s wedding colors were pink, cream/ivory, and gray, so the “greige” album (pretty clever color name eh? In case you can’t figure it out, it’s grey and beige…) fit pretty well with the color scheme out of all the albums. Enough talking, here is the album!

I left extra pages at the end of the album for other Instagram pictures she wants to add, or for engagement pictures that could be cut in a square shape to add to the back. I got all the pictures printed at Walgreens, since they have a 4×4 shaped print now. The 2×2 ones were edited in a collage online to make them 4×4, so once I had them printed all I had to do was cut them into the smaller squares. I think this turned out darling, and I’m just starting to work on the matching wedding album to go along with this one too.
