You’re Stellar!

Tomorrow is already Father’s Day! I can’t believe how fast time has gone since Mother’s Day. My dad really loves science-y stuff, so I knew I had to make him a card that was science related. I came across a beautiful watercolor card online that said, “You’re Stellar” on the front, which I fell in love with, so I decided to go with a space theme. The day I made this my Silhouette wasn’t cooperating, so I cut out the moon by hand and drew on the craters, as well as drew the stars. The letters are from an old pack of Thickers I had. It’s a perfect card for my science loving dad!

Completed Mega Man Quilt

Almost exactly a year after finishing the top for this quilt, the Mega Man quilt is officially complete! I am very happy with how it turned out, and my husband is as happy as a child with his new quilt. My MIL completed the back, quilting, as well as the binding, as I finished up my first year of teaching. This quilt was a long process since it has 960 two inch blocks that had to be carefully planned, laid out, then sewed, to come together to look like the favorite pixelated character, Mega Man. I used this image to help with the front, and this image to inspire the back. Although the sewing was easy since it was just blocks, it was very time consuming, but completely worth it after seeing the finished product. There will definitely be more video game quilts in my future!
